In my usual spot i costantly live the gusts-shit.
When wind is light (8-14 kts) we have zones with no wind and zones where it blows.
When the wind is "good" we have different strenghts along the track: strong-avg-light avg--strong-very strong.
Safely handle all of that while foiling is super difficult (for me).
Till now i've just given up with being hooked and placed the rear foot in the middle of the tail deck, staying aware to smooth as much as possible the gust power with legs bending.
But, i suspect than being unhooked makes for no locked pressure point with conseguent lost of charge onto the foil, meaning sudden uncontrolled lifts or drops
