Hi,
tested briefly a 37 Phoenix 9.2 two days ago, onshore winds 15 - 22 knots, 7.0 Venom '17, m° SL112. I was surprised by the low end lift, made it easy to plane and accellerate even in light winds (definitely a 7.7 day). Nothing to do with the Talon, that made it impossible to trim the same board level even in higher winds. And far better than even the Fury, that by comparison had lots of spinouts and required a very careful back foot. In stronger gusts (nicely powered) control was perfect even going against the swell.
Does not feel like a G-10 fin at all. I wonder how larger sizes do with big sails.
I am a fan of my Chris Lockwood SL2 carbon custom fins, but, if I didn't have those already, I would surely get the Phoenix. And probably will get some anyhow for backup.
