I've got 2 sessions with my "new" used isonic 72 2019. Both in steady wind 18/22 kts with lulls at 15 and gusts at 26/28. Sail my trusty kar 7.9 2018 and fins Lockwood sl2 38/36. Little chop.
Coming from "slim/long" Mistral and "classic" Angulo Magnum, when i firstly saw the isonic i thought it's "big/fat/super boxy rails". I was scared i couldn't hold it down in the rough.
First meters in the water i used the 38. Despite wind was not yet steady i felt a huge amount of (undesired) lift. Got back ashore and resettled stuff. Mostly harness lines placement/lenght, DH, OH grommet. After that the ride was much more composed but i needed to get used to that "boxy/high" feeling. Don't get me wrong, it's always an Isonic but, in my opinion, it's very different than what i knew in 2014 and earlier. As long the wind properly filled in i needed to switch down fin size to 35,8cm. With my big surprise it worked super good in any part of the wind range. Now the Isonic is high and steady, with good trim whatever it gets. Upwind is powerful, with enough power to recover and point to the next mark if you got too much down wind to escape from other sailors attacks or to try to find the 6th gear to overtake someone. Beam reach is very comfy. What impressed me the most was the broad reach. As long you start to trust in the tail volume support you start to push harder and harder and the board always supports you with no delay. Just pedal to the metal and the gps will sing. During the first session i needed to get used to the new way of gybe. Sometime i went "straight" as i didn't properly carved (it needs to stay more ON the tail). I got also some problem when i had to extract the rear foot from the back foot strap. Scary moments! All of that was sorted in the next session. I feel there's a huge high wind potential in this board size and sailing it with a 7.0 will be even funnier. But, it track so good with the 7.8 that i think the 7.0 times will be not frequent.
Isonic is still a starboard but now it needs a more skilled approach to make it shine.

J'ai eu les deux (97 2018 Carbon LCF et 67 2019 Carbon Reflex). La 67 2019 marche encore plus fort: on la tient plus loin dans le vent, elle passe mieux le clapot et le chantier, elle cape mieux.
