Test of the 112-evo2 7.0-boss 38.
Constant wind 22+ kts. Regular side-on shore little swell with chop in-between.
Great feeling first meters moving. The board keeps accelerating easy and strong. Never felt the sail size was not appropriated for the board size (quite common problem with medium size boards). It was first time I've figured out what the hull efficiency is. You really have no friction underhull and don't need to push the fin like hell to move on. The board just glides smooth by itself no matter the water state or the wind force.Heading out the trim was very neutral. The nose never lifted up in unwanted way. But it never stucked. In the same situation the 107 didn't trim as good because it needed more work.Very safe feeling. With the sail full power up wind was correct with enough speed to protect yourself from buddies upwind attacks.Speed across the wind was good but the smile quickly appears when you head down wind.Didn't clocked the speed but feeling is the Mistral as a huge speed potential with no effort requested. And,the more it gusts the more it accellerates (with no back leg burning like the isonic).I can confirm what Mistral states when they say the chop seems to disappear sailing the SL...
No problem with gybes. Both large and tight arcs can be performed.Very intuitive.
Keeping planning after gybes is not a problem.
Despite the wind would suggested a smaller fin with the 38 I never suffered any wheeling.I'm almost sure in the same condition a 35/36 will work great.Going to order some...
No much heavier compared to the new 107 but with different quality construction...

More to come

Those boards seem to work very well. Where do you get this 112?

DIFFERENT. That's the word that sum up Mistral character.

All the 3 SL have the same behaviour and are very good spaced range. Switching up or down with board sizes won't cause stress at all.

Any of them keep going super quick and effortless. It seem there's almost no transition time from struggling to planning.
Any of them gybes very very good, carving as you like in any water state. The funniest is that they NEVER STOP and are ready to re-accellerate earlier than other boards (at same level sailors and same level stuff rigged).
Any of them are FAST. Really fast. Heavier than Cobra's and longer than "banana rockered" boards they do need powerful and lifting fins that allow for an high ride. In my experience that's the key point if you go for Mistral. Almost no way (at my level) enjoying those boards with no dedicated fins. After one season stressing I've got 4 CL's and the light turned on! Now it seems there's no upper limit with all the power I need in the low end. The boards sit high, flat and NEVER catch. Doesn't matter if there's 1 mt choppy, boards eat it quite easy and you have just stay focused on the gas pedal.
Any of them are strong built and reliable. Yes they're heavier but you won't really feel that once in the water. Now I'm confident they will last much more than one season with no problem or performance loss.

I (78 kg) use the 137 with 9.5 (46) in 10-16 (when with my old IS 127 I couldn't go more than 13-14). The 137 is performant in ANY part of this wind range BUT, in my opinion, it's hard to be on pair with lighter boards in 12-14 kts. With my specs I have to work A LOT to stay quick in this wind range. But the stronger the wind the faster I am. Sailed 137/ 9.5 also with the 44 in more than 14 kts and I'm just faster DW. Not sure if over all it's better than the 46.

137/8.6/44 . That's my most used combo. It's an "every day" stuff. It works (really) from 13 to 25 kts. Could sound BS but that's my experience (please note that the CL's play a big role in this game). You'll be amazed to be fast totally in control in 18-20 kts with such a big board.

137/7.8/38 Men,that's life! Can't imagine a better combination for french LD. For me no way to use the 7.8 with the mid size board as it's super fun being with the barge in such steady wind. It flattens out the chop and Hoover over it. Now you won't feel the 82cm under your feet. Never. My actuol preferred stuff.

112/7.0/34 Stuff used in steady wind (from solid 20 kts). Coming from Starboard I thought I needed more wind to be quick with the 7.0. Not the case with Mistral. 112 is very efficient and balanced. It's a plug and play board and liked since first time use (with Z's, Boss'). Better with CL's. Since I have my 34 I find the 112 very good with 7.0 and no need to sail smaller baord for this sail size.

Can't really say about this size as I did just sessions (7.0). According with CL my Tecto falcon f1 32 is a good match but ordered a CL 30. Think the right sails are 5.5-6.0.

And what about the 137 with 9.5 in very light wind for early planning and upwind compared to isonic 127 or other slalom board?

I think planning is more related to personal skill and ability than strictly stuff. If you want my personal comparison,at my weight and level, find the 137/9.5/46 as good (if not better as you have no make effort) as the IS 127/9,6/48 .
The MAIN differences are:
- (if you're not tall, strong, skilled, trimmed, tuned) 137 is difficult to make run high in 12-14 kts AFTER having got planning. Gonna test an E7 9.2 to see the difference
- 137 is way more better then the 127 as I no change board size way LONGER and despite water condition. That's whit NO PERFORMANCE LOSS

Want to remark it all happen when you get used with the board and just if you have the right fins.

eh ben si tu essayais avec un 35 pour voir si tu ne glisses pas mieux au lieu de pousser de l'eau avec le pied arrière ? ^^

It must be CL's. Z's has no enough power/lift
