The boogie man came and almost stolen my big Isonic. While rushing he luckily lost some € 100 bills and we all are happy now.

Humm, happy? Not sure...

So, does it still worth to get a 85 cm (fin) slalom board??
Or better going straight for dedicated slalom foil stuff??

For me, it's clear that for the practice for only slalom, there is no point in taking more than 85 wide. This is enough to hold 9.5.

On the other hand, of course, for the foil, even if it is easier to start with a board of 85, it is useful to have a wider board after a best level

In this wind range, i’ll go for a slalom or racing Foil board (91 wide). Scary some time but ..... so funny ! No need to have a big sail, an 8,0 - even less if you are light - is a good choice ! And with that kind of board, you can go up and downwind as you never has done ..... even with a formula board !
