When I want to see a 'custom fin' on a picture I go to "Bourse de l'occase zone-Les accessoires". Why do I find more custom fins in France compared to other countries???

Why do speedsurfers in France use more exclusive (custom) fins?

I would like to write an article about this on my blog http://www.speedsurfingblog.com

Thank you,

Erik

What do you mean exactly by "custom fins " ?

Gasoil fins or Deboichet fins ?

Plenty of good reasons for frenchies to use custom fins:
=> Albeau does so we do regardless to the uge gap between he and us. Our national leader is far above all the other riders, we figure out it cames from his equipment and we copy it. For instance, the percentage of Slalom JP boards are strongly raising in the market of new boards.
=> Gasoil and Deboichet are both french or french native speaker making it easier to get the right fin for your board without to much risk in the delivery
=> those fins are excellents, we have plenty of everyday riders feedback and a strong second hand market making it possible to renew a full set of Deboichet for few box.

During my pre-father life, I use to travel a lot across the world on the popular windsurfing spot. I wont say frenchies are the most european fashion victims. German are far more fashion compares to us. Italian seems quite fashionistas too

German prefers the brand new product
Italian&Spanish prefers the flashy one
Frenchy prefers the most valuable

Of course, this is the global tendance, not a absolut rule ;)

the short answer is quite simple - markets are still very national despite decades of single EU market. indeed, the opposite is also true: you will find custom fins on the Dutch market which you won't find on the French market.

and then there is the language barrier of course

Probably because Select has a good reseller in your country

try a gasoil fin once...

I'm 14 years old, I'm french and I all understand.

I'm very happy :D

For the "customs fins", I think there are lots of Gasoil and Deboichet in France because it's "artisanal" and Gasoil and Deboichet are french.

I'm not good in english and I don't know if my language is good.
