The Talon is a superb fin ... if used with boards that go well with such fin; same as for all of the fins around.
Mind that fin - board selection is a very peculiar issue and really needs direct testing or some very reliable advice. Fins that are OK on a board can be dogs on another, and vice versa; and even fins that show certain qualities on a board can show the opposite on another.
Talons are well known for reliable all-round performances, expecially in middle wind range; in some cases may show a rough ride in certain conditions (T-43 can be a solution then) or, on the other side, not enough lift with certain board models (a well built, soft flex, carbon fin, even shorter in some cases, can be the solution). So I think the Talon fins in the sizes you are going to test are a very good starting point, but maybe (maybe) not the best possible solution.
In my recent experience I used the Talon fins a lot on Carbon Art boards. Proved very good on the '10 models; not much lifty on '11's; too much powerful and nervous on '12's when well powered up. This year I changed for Mistral boards and the Talon fins proved unuseable on those, as unable to provide enough lift to get a proper trim or any upwind.
