Hello,

Excuse me for reacting in english, but I my french is not strong enough.

At the moment I'm working with Chris Ting(VMG Blades) on tests with his fins in combination with the F2-Z.
It is known that some proffesional riders use realy big cut-down fins (up to 84cm).
This gives the Z a huge amount of power, which this board needs.
But the problem with those fins is that they are really hard to sail with, plus they create a bigger amount of drag than smaller models. Although the fin might have a big angle on the upwind course, it is slower downwind.

For now we are still testing with different sizes, flex and twist of the most know VMG model "K". This with already great results.
Also we are testing a new model, known as "B".

For now I can recomend the following fins for the F2-Z
Light winds: K78 cut to 70cm
Stronger winds: K73 cut to 70cm
These are the fins that Chris Ting is already producing for several riders around the world.

As we are not advanced enough in testing the "B" model yet, I can't give any concrete anwsers about the fin yet. But for now it seems really promising.

I hope this might have given you some anwsers.
Aloha, Markus

Hello,

I wonder to know how you define a 78cm cut to 70cm. What dimensions do they have?
An other question what your theory about the surface polish? mirror or a little bit rough?

A 78 cut down to 70 is a 70 cm fin. The mold is 78 long, and then 8 cm is cut of the tip ... so you end up with a 70cm that has a wider tip.

About the surface : what I do with all my fins is check if they are greasy.
You can test it:
put your fin into the water, and see if the fins stays wet for some time, or does the fin dries up fast.
If you see the water falling of, and the fin is dry in - let say 10 seconds - then the fin has to be :
- or washed with soap. Do the test again
- take a newspaper and sand off the fin. Test again.

Chears,
Marco

Do you really feel the difference before/after?
Is the difference about the speed and/or the fall off (décrochage) angle?
What about the hull the same question. Carbon Art does mirror polish hull all the others do rough surface (it's far easier to do).
