From what i've read in this thread (if i right remember) the "stock" AFS 85 (F700-V2) can be upgraded with the F800 to improve the light wind freeride (getting also a sort of "limited speed" but also a very smooth ride).
I wonder if the S wings fit and if does it worth the while (and what result/feeling) it can be expected.
Not interested in up/down wind. Just reaching.
I also wonder what are the best (model) boards and sails for this foil. If you would like to explain the reason i could start to learn more.
Thx
Hello Giu
First, the AFS85 can be upgrated (speaking about lightwind perf) with bigger front wings only for the monobloc (fixed T-bar) version.
The S840 wing is compatible with the AFS85 using the V2 stab.
You will gain comfort and stability on all points. The S wings are made for reaching.
Less speed in higher wind but this is not the aim of the wing.
The AFS85 has a backfooted feeling (beginners friendly) so prefer a board with multiple positions of footstraps, not far from the foilbox position (to be not too far ahead from the foil position).
It will allow you to choose the best setting, depending of your sail size, your weight and level.
(It is the case of our brand new AHD compact 72 and 83
)
Hope it's clear!
Cheers
