Sorry to write in English, my French is limited and I find it hard to express my self if I try to write in french.

My 2014 iSonic 130 wood (85cm wide) could do with being replaced. I will stay with iSonics so I am looking for a 2017 to 2020 85cm replacement. The last wood construction was in 2016, and since been replaced with various carbon constructions.

In 2011, I bought a new iS137 carbon (the grey coloured one), I hated the carbon feel and after just 5 or 6 back/knee vibrating sessions, I replaced it with a new iS137 wood, this was much better for all day sailing.

Has the newer iSonic carbon construction improved on comfort or am I still going to hate them? If I end up going for a new 2020 iS85, I'm guessing the cheaper carbon construction will give a more comfort than the carbon reflex? Or have I got this wrong and it's actually the opposite way round? Other iSonic constructions include LFC and hybrid carbon, are either of these more comfortable than older carbon?

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Both the LCF and Carbon constructions are more comfortable than Carbon Reflex (except when Cobra place the stickers of an LCF board on one made in Carbon Reflex, which was the case with a friend's iSonic 87).
Wait until the 2021 iSonics are announced (probably as early as September 15th.), as the WOOD technology might make a come-back.
I hate boards that are too stiff, however I have never found Carbon Reflex to be a problem for boards bigger than the iSonic 107/72: at 77 kgs, when I use boards of that size, there is no chop, comfort is not an issue, but a lighter and stiffer board is of great benefit. For my iSonic 107s and smaller, I have almost always chosen Wood, then Carbon Hybrid, LCF or Carbon.
