Hallo, althought I use to compete in Formula/slalom comp I have no experience with big slalom board.Oh well,I bought a F2 L 2006 but used it just once in 7,8 but not enough wind! After this time I sold the board as it was not usable because of Formula.
We use to switch for slalom when at least 16/17 kns(more often 20 and more) so no idea about light wind needs or something.
I'm just planning to compete some more pure slalom events next season so I've just started to right document!
Already proud owner of isonic 111 2007 ,good trained and familiar with big sail size (formula ones) I have still not decided what's best to do for me.
I should mantain my 111 and buy a 85 wide one or I could sell my 111 and buy (talking Starboard) a 122 and 101.
How about it?
Is 11 kns the lower limit to start a slalom race?
Do you think a 9,0 will do the job?Almost everybody seemed use it as biggest one during the season.
What will be its range?
After that, any suggestion about best seller light wind board.

Thank you for your help

For me 9.0 is the perfect size for 85 wide board.
The 9.0 could be great but it deeping of your weight ( finian maynard use 9.8 in lighwind slalom :D )

In france the lower limit for slalom-race is 12 knots so 14 knots average.
