Yes. they seem similar. However the one foot off measurement seems quite different. The Flikka is almost straight, with 73.5 cm at 30 cm from the tail. For me it was easier to get the Flikka and I wanted a smaller board than an Airtime. I am sure either work great. Ok ... here comes the goggle "artificial stupidity" translation (apologies for my lack of French!):

Not so sure why the roll eyes ... it is all good we are just going foiling! And I am sure it does not matter much but the expect ratio of my Flikka is squarer than the Airtime. The board is shorter and less wide, and therefore the tail drops less (3.5cm instead of 7-8 of the Airtime).

It was actually much fun to play with the CAD drawings before I ordered, they are standard Shape3D drawings.

Mine is coming soon, 140L a bit wider and thicker...and with a Taaroa Noe 80 as yours!
And as I have tested flikka construction with the airtime, it’s efficient and light

Yes, the water! although it will be a bit hard to run into each other given the 9096 Km distance (very rough France to California distance ... Paris to Los Angeles?).

De mémoire la carène de la airtime est plus proche de celle de la Slant niveau concaves.
J'ai bien les arrières diamond avec un poil plus de V aussi ; les cut outs je ne suis pas convaincu en foil.
De toute manière pour moi c'est la 145 que je vise, donc la 117 n'est pas une option. Ça fait toujours une alternative de plus sur le marché avec une bonne construction à priori

Effectivement, l'arrière et le positionnement des straps ont l'air bien proche de la Airtime .
L'avant est par contre un peu différent ... surtout sur l'outline. Il ne fallait pas faire la même
Je pense aussi que les rails sont assez différents ... c'est une partie sur laquelle on a pas mal bossé avec Philippe, et cela m'étonnerai qu'ils aient repris le même dessin.

Of course the nice thing is that you can customize everything. Position of the straps, overall dimensions, profile, rails, rocker (if you dare). I am out of my league with a foil but I am ordering a high wind slalomish board and it will have custom profile, rails and front concaves/V. I agree about the cut outs, I am not so sure either if they are necessary on a foil. I still think they do slow down take off on a normal windsurf, although they do increase top speed and control. They were an option and Luka (Jures) said that they do help at touch down so I ordered the board with them. Weighted the board: it is 7.1 Kg naked. It is raining like crazy here (finally, we do need it after the fires last year) ... but I did went out in 1-2 knots yesterday ...

Je suis d'accord sur les découpes, je ne suis pas sûr non plus si elles sont nécessaires sur une feuille. Je pense toujours qu'ils ralentissent leur décollage avec une planche à voile normale, bien qu'ils augmentent la vitesse de pointe et le contrôle Ils étaient une option et Luka (Jures) a dit qu’ils aident au toucher, alors j’ai commandé le tableau avec eux. La première vraie journée avec le Flikka. Le temps a été horrible. Impressions:

C'est petit. La longueur, 209 cm, fait vraiment une différence. Le volume, 117L, semble à peu près parfait. Je pèse 158 livres et la planche est hors de l'eau lorsqu'elle est immobile. La planche est très carrée, large de 77 avec un dos de 73, et le virement de bord est facile: le très large devant sauve toutes les erreurs possibles. Vous pouvez très bien rester devant!

En navigation il accélère vivement, je suis surpris par le manque de traînée. Je suis sorti avec un tout nouveau Point-7 ACX 5.4, le vent est extrêmement faible (le capteur dit 5 noeuds pour l'après-midi) et je m'attends à ne pas trop bouger mais ... le voilà, un petit coup et je up. Je ne ressens même pas la transition. Je suis encore trop en avant et ça ne dure pas longtemps, mais ensuite je vais encore ... si facile.

Le vent revient à 5 à 6 nœuds et je devrais être sur l'ACX 6.5, mais cela suffit pour le moment. Je posterai encore quand le vent sera vraiment jeudi / vendredi / samedi devrait être bon

Cela semble un peu ridicule, mais j'aime beaucoup la combinaison du déviateur de mât Surfbent et de la base rigide du mât Chinook. Il a fallu que je retourne à la place de repos lorsque le vent est complètement retombé et que je viens de renverser le tableau: zéro dommage ou traînée!



The first real day out with the Flikka. The weather has been horrible. Impressions:

It feels small. The length, 209 cm, really makes a difference. The volume, 117L, seems just about perfect. I am 158 pounds, and the board is out of the water when standing still. The board is very square shaped, 77 wide with a 73 back, and the tack is easy: the very wide front rescues all possible kind of mistakes. You can pretty much stand in front!

In navigation it accellerates briskly, I am surprised by the lack of drag. I am out with a brand new Point-7 ACX 5.4, the wind is extremely weak (the sensor said 5 knots for the afternoon) and I am expecting to just slog around but ... here it is, a little gust and I am up. I don't even feel the transition. I am still too forward and it does not last long, but then I am going again ... so easy.

The wind goes back to its 5-6 knots and I should be on the ACX 6.5, but it is enough for now. I'll post again when the wind really comes in Thursday/Friday/Saturday should be good.

It looks a bit silly but I love the combination of the Surfbent mast deviator and the rigid Chinook mast base. I had to walk back to the lounching spot when the wind completely died and I just flipped the board upside down: zero damage or drag!
