I ordered the V-FR 9.9 and might add a 9.0 and 8.0 next year, no delivery dates yet but I guess we’ll hear soon. Didn’t see the Venom 9.3 winning me foilraces, but to be honest, if going for pure speed the Venom might be faster (speculation), since the V-FR is designed for up/down racing and not slalom/speed. I see the Venom working very well in the smaller sizes, they just need a little more wind than the V-FR, but that’s what the smaller sizes are for right?
As a sidenote, imho, if you’re racing you should pick the V-FR, if not, just pick the Wicked, for there is absolutely no point in getting a 4-cammed rig when you’re not racing. The Venom is a worldcup slalomrig, meaning also destined for worldcup level sailors, but people seem to not be able to make the distinction that well for slalom sails.. To be honest in the small sizes I’d just pick the Jester or Dragon (as I did) and leave the cams alltogether, since the cams really don’t add much anymore under 7.0 and when I’m overpowered I like a sail that can dump power (meaning no cams).
