Thx for the analyse, but how to be first before the first mark, that s the question !?

We know all, in slalom, the main problem, without big mistakes ( or crash ), is before the end of the first jybe :wink:

It will interesting to know how many racer win the heat when he is first after the first mark ... 75 % , 90 % ?

yep, that's why they spend A LOT of training time doing starts. Nailing the start is middle road to be ahead at first mark (and probably succed at the end).Don't only need to cross the starting line at 0 but must be full on speed at that 0. EXPECIALLY with big kits.

In my (poor and low level) experience in such light air you aren't allowed to accelerate if you got dirty air or you slowed down because a little early before the line. Also being slightly up wind makes (about) no difference.

Off course, a well tuned stuff sailed by a good sailor will make anything easier.
