The pryde is not the most accesible. I have the papenoo 7'11'' (design in france), which is a very nice board for freeride foil, but I don't think is suitable in fin. The windfoil setup with the Levo900 wing is very suitable for beginners because its very stable / blocked. I dare say the most stable alu foil I've sailed so far. (Manta, pryde alu pinky / blue, Horue H10, Naish, Slingshot, would like to try the Alpine and Taaroa some day).
I do think the Gecko is a nice board for you (for a lot of people), its match with the F-One foil is however not ideal (rather a board with tracks). If you take the gecko, look at more front foot powered foils, for it has the straps quite far forward.
